We want to take this time to thank all the volunteers, DHS ROTC students and United For Christ students for making Freedom Call '24 a great success. God's presence was at the event! Thank you to all our wonderful friends, family and businesses that sowed a seed or donated gift cards for our give-a-ways. Thank you for believing in the Freedom Call Vision, reaching this generation for Jesus!

In March of 2012, at our Youth Service, I gathered the young people and began to pray. We prayed that God would touch our city. That night, I prophesied that one day we would host a youth rally at the Dickinson High School Stadium. Of course, in my heart, I thought this would be somewhere in the distant future. I was quite content being a youth pastor at our church, but God had a bigger plan for us. Soon after that service, three of our youth members restarted the United For Christ Bible Club, at Dickinson High School. They got a teacher sponsor and asked the administration if we could host a youth rally at the stadium. I was still not sure about renting a whole stadium, so I told my pastors what happened, and to my surprise, they said, “Go For It!”
The administration permitted us to host the event, so we contacted DISD and scheduled our First Freedom Call Youth Rally. I am still amazed at how in five weeks we were able to get everything together! I called friends to help with the sound, bands, and promotions. I wrote letters to all the local churches to invite them to the event. On May 24, 2012, over 400 young people and adults gathered at the Sam Vitanza Stadium for our first Freedom Call Youth Rally and we all worshipped God together! During the altar call (at the track) many students and adults came down from the stands and gave their lives to Jesus that night.
Every year I have worked closely with the Bible Clubs at Dickinson High School and McAdams and Kranz Jr. High. Through the Bible Clubs, many students have been reached and their lives changed. Freedom Call Ministries partners with the schools to represent the most strategic approach toward bringing a Godly change in our communities! Bringing Freedom Call right into their football field/gym is an important opportunity. Some students may never step foot into our churches to hear the gospel, but they will come to their school stadium/gym for a concert!
I invite you to our 12th Annual Freedom Call on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Dickinson High School’s Competition Gym. This is a free event for the whole family. During the Rally, there will be a free concert with Pastor and Recording artist, Von Won and The Remnant Band, and several students will also be sharing their testimonies. We will also have prizes.
Our purpose is to have young people reach young people and advance the Kingdom of God. As an outreach of the rally, my husband I have written several devotional books to help students have a closer walk with the Lord. The books contain testimonies from young people in our youth group and other people that I know whose lives have been changed by God. I am humbled and grateful that God has used Freedom Call to bring the gospel to teens in a whole new way, and that we can impact so many lives for eternity through these youth events!

All things are possible to those who believe. Rising from a very difficult childhood and low self-esteem, Lorena Garza learned this lesson early. With God on her side, she began pushing beyond her emotional pain by bringing hope and healing to others. At 17, she had an encounter with God that changed her life and allowed her to forgive those who had hurt her. Joy, passion, and purpose are now hallmarks of her life.
After graduation in 1990, Lorena worked full-time at Burchfield Ministries where she graduated from Texas Bible Institute. She has been in youth ministry for over 35 years. For 20 of those years, she and her husband, Robert, served as youth pastors at Living Faith Outreach in Dickinson, Texas. Lorena has also sponsored the Christian Clubs at Dickinson High School and the Junior High Schools. Today, Lorena is the Director of Chaplain Affairs for the National School Chaplain Association, helping others become chaplains for schools.
She and Robert host popular annual youth rallies and camps and are guest ministers at churches. They have two sons and a daughter.
At only a few days old, Robert nearly lost his life due to pneumonia. But a praying mother and father asked God if He would spare him, they would dedicate their son to the Lord. God answered their prayers, and they kept their promise.

At only a few days old, Robert nearly lost his life due to pneumonia. But a praying mother and father asked God if He would spare him, they would dedicate their son to the Lord. God answered their prayers, and they kept their promise.
As a young 16-year-old, Robert started his music ministry traveling throughout the state of Texas and beyond, drumming at countless church services, tent revivals, and youth events. He was told through prophesy that one day he would also preach the word of God. Forty years later, he is still fulfilling that prophecy alongside his wife. He says the secret to his longevity is staying humble.
Thank you to all family, friends, businesses that sowed a seed or gave us give-a-ways for our event!
May the blessings of the Lord overtake you!

We believe in the power of faith and strive to create a community that fosters spiritual growth. We want students and teachers to know they are greatly loved by God!
